Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Apples: Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges. Place the apple slices in a large mixing bowl and toss with lemon juice, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- Make the Topping: In another bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, and salt. Add the cold, diced butter and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Assemble the Dessert: Transfer the spiced apples into a baking dish. Spread the oat mixture evenly over the apples.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven. Bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
- Serve: Allow the dessert to cool slightly before serving. Serve with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
