Description

A delicious and unique way to enjoy spaghetti, baked in small bread bowls, perfect for any pasta lover!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 small round bread loaves
  • 200 grams spaghetti pasta
  • 250 grams ground beef or sausage
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon Italian herbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread Bowls:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Cut off the tops of the bread loaves and hollow out the centers to create bowls. Save the tops for serving if desired.
  2. Cook the Spaghetti:
    • Boil water in a large pot and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Meat Sauce:
    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, sauté until translucent.
    • Add the ground beef or sausage, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
    • Pour in the marinara sauce and add Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
  4. Combine Spaghetti and Sauce:
    • Mix the cooked spaghetti with the meat sauce until well combined.
  5. Assemble the Bread Bowls:
    • Place the hollowed-out bread bowls on a baking sheet.
    • Fill each bowl with the spaghetti mixture.
    • Top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake:
    • Place the filled bread bowls in the preheated oven.
    • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish and Serve:
    • Remove from oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
    • Serve immediately, using the reserved bread tops as lids if preferred.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can mix some of the hollowed-out bread into the meat sauce.
  • Feel free to experiment with different cheeses or herbs.
  • For a vegetarian version, replace meat with vegetables like mushrooms, zucchini, or spinach.
  • Ensure the bread is fresh and sturdy to hold the spaghetti mixture well.
