Description

Delicious S’mores Rice Krispie Treats that combine the flavors of classic s’mores with the beloved crunch of Rice Krispies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 (12-ounce) bag mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1½ cups crushed graham crackers (about 1012 full sheets)
  • 1½ cups mini marshmallows (for topping)
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips (or chopped milk chocolate bars)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal. This step ensures your s’mores Rice Krispie Treats pop out cleanly once set.
  2. Melt the Marshmallows: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, stir in the 12-ounce bag of mini marshmallows. Stir constantly until fully melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
  3. Mix in the Cereal and Graham Crackers: Working quickly, fold in the Rice Krispies cereal and crushed graham crackers. Stir until everything is well coated in the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Press into the Pan: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Press it down gently using a greased spatula or clean hands. Be careful not to compact it too firmly, or the bars will turn out too dense.
  5. Add the Toppings: While the base is still warm, sprinkle the remaining mini marshmallows and milk chocolate chips over the top. Lightly press them into the surface so they adhere.
  6. Optional Toasting: For an authentic s’mores look and flavor, place the dish under the broiler for 1–2 minutes to lightly toast the marshmallows and melt the chocolate. Keep a close eye—marshmallows brown fast!
  7. Cool and Slice: Let the treats cool at room temperature for about 30–40 minutes until set. Slice into squares and serve.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh marshmallows.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
