Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup jelly or jam of your choice
  • Optional: a handful of chopped peanuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8-inch square pan.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a big bowl.
  3. Pour in the milk and melted butter. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Lightly flour the counter and roll the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Spread peanut butter across the dough. Dot or swirl the jelly on top.
  6. Scatter chopped peanuts or chocolate chips on if desired.
  7. Roll up the rectangle, longer side first, into a log shape.
  8. Slice into 8-10 rolls and plop them in the pan.
  9. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden.
  10. Let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Substituting whole wheat flour is an option, though it may result in denser rolls.
  • Feel free to use almond milk instead of whole milk.
  • Letting rolls cool for at least five minutes is advisable to avoid burning your tongue.
