Description
These brownies are made with ripe bananas and packed with chocolatey flavor!
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large ripe bananas (mashed)
- 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup peanut butter (divided, 3/4 cup in brownies and 1/4 cup for top of brownies)
- ½ to 1 cup dark chocolate chunks or chips
- Optional: 3 tablespoons agave syrup or maple syrup (optional if you want brownies sweeter)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8-inch pan with non-stick cooking spray. If you want easy removal, line the pan with parchment paper and then spray with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, mash up the 4 large ripe bananas.
- Add the 6 tablespoons of the unsweetened cocoa powder and ¾ cup of the peanut butter to the mashed bananas; if you want the brownies sweeter, add 3 tablespoons of the agave syrup or maple syrup and mix together until combined. Add chocolate chunks or chips if desired.
- Transfer the brownie mixture to the prepared baking pan.
- Melt ¼ cup of the peanut butter in the microwave for 20 seconds so it has a drippy consistency and pour on top of the brownies, then take a knife and swirl the peanut butter into the brownies.
- Bake brownies for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and let them cool, then slice into bars! Enjoy!
Notes
- These brownies are extra chocolatey thanks to the dark chocolate chunks or chips.
- For best results, use ripe bananas for natural sweetness.
