Description

These brownies are made with ripe bananas and packed with chocolatey flavor!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup peanut butter (divided, 3/4 cup in brownies and 1/4 cup for top of brownies)
  • ½ to 1 cup dark chocolate chunks or chips
  • Optional: 3 tablespoons agave syrup or maple syrup (optional if you want brownies sweeter)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8-inch pan with non-stick cooking spray. If you want easy removal, line the pan with parchment paper and then spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, mash up the 4 large ripe bananas.
  3. Add the 6 tablespoons of the unsweetened cocoa powder and ¾ cup of the peanut butter to the mashed bananas; if you want the brownies sweeter, add 3 tablespoons of the agave syrup or maple syrup and mix together until combined. Add chocolate chunks or chips if desired.
  4. Transfer the brownie mixture to the prepared baking pan.
  5. Melt ¼ cup of the peanut butter in the microwave for 20 seconds so it has a drippy consistency and pour on top of the brownies, then take a knife and swirl the peanut butter into the brownies.
  6. Bake brownies for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and let them cool, then slice into bars! Enjoy!

Notes

  • These brownies are extra chocolatey thanks to the dark chocolate chunks or chips.
  • For best results, use ripe bananas for natural sweetness.
