Description

A delicious appetizer featuring crispy eggrolls filled with seasoned ground beef and cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 beaten egg (for sealing)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat.
  2. Season the Beef: Add soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to the beef. Stir well to combine. Add chopped green onions and mix everything together. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Prepare the Eggrolls: Layout an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface. Place about 2 tablespoons of beef mixture on the wrapper and top with a small amount of cheese. Fold the sides in and roll tightly, sealing the edge with the beaten egg.
  4. Fry the Eggrolls: Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place eggrolls in the oil, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown and crispy for about 3-5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  5. Serving: Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Ensure the beef is well-drained to avoid soggy eggrolls.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste if desired.
  • If you prefer baking, place eggrolls on a baking sheet, brush with oil, and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Make sure the eggrolls are tightly sealed to prevent filling from leaking during frying.
